Hello, I’m Barnaby Benbow, MNCPS (Acc.), a Therapeutic Counsellor with an FdSc in Psychology and Counselling Skills. I offer an integrative approach to therapy, rooted in Person-Centred values and a deep respect for each person’s unique journey toward self-awareness and growth.

I work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma recovery, self-esteem issues, addiction, and relational or social challenges. Whatever has brought you to seek support, you can expect a warm, safe, and non-judgmental space where you are met with compassion, honesty, and understanding.

My approach is genuine and collaborative. I believe that you are the expert on your own life, and that meaningful change comes from developing greater awareness and taking responsibility for your own growth. My role is to walk alongside you — to support, empower, and encourage you as you explore new perspectives and find the courage to make lasting changes.

For the most part, our work together will be conversational, though I sometimes draw on creative counselling techniques to help deepen self-awareness and uncover new possibilities for change.

Counselling has profoundly changed my own life. It’s not just a career for me — it’s a calling, one I feel deeply compelled to answer. My own experience of therapy has taught me to accept and value myself, flaws and all, and it’s this same spirit of acceptance and authenticity that I bring to my work with every client.
